FAQ or Frequently Asked Questions
Acquiring an LED screen is not straightforward; it requires time and careful consideration. At LEDiMedia, we want to help you choose the right one, so we have compiled a comprehensive package of answers to the most frequently asked questions to assist you.
What sizes of LED screens are available?
LED screens are assembled from modules available in various sizes, offering nearly unlimited possibilities for creating screens of different sizes suitable for various spaces. Our selection includes many screen sizes, with the most common being 2 m2–100 m2. Larger screens can also be provided if needed. Contact us early in the planning phase so we can work together to find the best solution for your needs.
What is the lifespan of an LED screen?
In Finland’s challenging weather conditions, screens are put to the test, and not all perform flawlessly. The lifespan of an LED screen depends on the components used, such as internal soldering and the display driver. While a high-quality screen might require a significant initial investment, it offers a longer lifespan and pays off over time. Manufacturers also often provide extended warranties and service commitments for higher-quality components.
How much electricity do LED screens consume?
The electricity consumption of an LED screen depends on its resolution, technology, and brightness. Content also plays a significant role; brighter content consumes more electricity.
Who can create advertisements for my LED screen?
You can create the content for your LED screen yourself, or our partner Valakia Interactive Oy can assist with content production. We recommend contacting us early in the planning phase – we are happy to help.
How do I know the products are high quality?
LEDiMedia’s products come directly from audited manufacturers. During LED screen deliveries, our local representative inspects the product before delivery. This ensures the quality of components and their suitability for local conditions. All our screens come with CE and RoHS certifications, helping to extend the product’s lifecycle.
What does the abbreviation “nit” mean in relation to an LED screen?
The abbreviation nit refers to the brightness of an LED screen. For example, 7000 nits is very bright. Each of our LED screens is equipped with automatic brightness adjustment to ensure optimal brightness and avoid excessive glare. LED screens can operate continuously for extended periods.
What does the abbreviation “P” followed by a number mean in relation to an LED screen?
P (sometimes referred to as PP or pixel pitch), followed by a number, indicates the screen’s resolution. The smaller the number, the higher the resolution and the closer the LEDs are to each other. This number also gives an approximate idea of the optimal viewing distance. For example, with P10 resolution, the viewing distance is 10 meters. However, the overall screen size should also be taken into account.
How is an LED screen controlled? Do I need special software?
An LED screen does not require special software; a functional internet connection and a web browser are sufficient. For example, LEDiMediaCloud is a user-friendly management platform that allows various media materials to be displayed on digital screens. If the presentation material is stored in a system, LEDiMediaCloud can play it on information screens anywhere in Finland.
Does an LED screen require a permit?
An outdoor LED screen generally always requires a permit from the municipality or the ELY Centre. Indoor screens usually do not require permits. Contact your municipality or ELY Centre for more information – we are also happy to help.
