We Completed a Massive LED Screen and Info Display Project

The OmaSp Stadium in Seinäjoki was completed in June 2016. Ledimedia acted as the total supplier of digital surfaces for the stadium. During the construction phase, we delivered a 25m² LED scoreboard, a 144-meter-long LED perimeter solution around the field area, a 30m² LED advertising display installed on the stadium exterior, and fixed light advertisements for the stadium. Additionally, we installed 80 info/pricing displays in the restaurant and conference areas. In the following years, we have been involved in the development of the stadium. The company added two LED scoreboards to the ends of the stadium and 75 meters of LED displays to the grandstand structure. It can certainly be said that we have been part of developing Finland’s most digitalized football stadium.

Managing OmaSp Stadium’s Displays

The complete system is managed using the LedimediaCloud content management software. This software helps run the network of info displays and LED screens. The content includes advertisements, announcements, visual productions, and scoreboards.

Software for Digital Scoreboards

The digital scoreboards are controlled by Areno, a software developed as a complementary product to LedimediaCloud. Areno is used during games to manage scoreboards, while LedimediaCloud manages other content visible on the displays such as advertisements.

OmaSp Stadium – Operations

OmaSp Stadium is a multifunctional stadium located in Seinäjoki, serving as the home ground for the Veikkausliiga team SJK. The stadium, designed by architect Jyrki Jääskeläinen, has a capacity of 6,000 spectators for sports events and 10,000 for concert events. Construction began in June 2015, with the official opening celebrated with the SJK – HJK Veikkausliiga match on June 18, 2016. The first major event outside of football was on July 16, 2016, when blues rock legend ZZ Top performed to a large audience at the new event stadium. The official opening ceremony with a lineup of artists concluded the summer concert season in Ostrobothnia on September 3, 2016. The stadium has continued to operate successfully, hosting various events throughout the year. The stadium’s restaurant facilities are available for private dining and meetings when events are not taking place, and the Fysiotesting fitness testing center offers expert and workplace wellness services within the stadium facilities.

Info displays are conveniently used for presenting product information. The same info display surface can be used with rotating slides, enabling product information to be presented in several languages. While the customer is ordering, they won’t miss the game either.

OmaSp Stadium modernized its restaurant with our digital display surfaces.

Upon approaching the stadium, a LED screen is installed on the back of the stage. This display serves as a good advertising spot, visible from afar along the road.

Up to 144 meters of LED screen surface encircle the edges of the stadium. These sideboards, known as “perimeters,” act as advertising spots, effects, and for public announcements. This high-visibility advertising spot is well seen by spectators on-site as well as viewers of the broadcast.

OmaSp Stadium’s Performance Stage

We have also delivered and installed a world-class LED screen setup on the OmaSp Stadium’s stage. There are a total of 4 large LED screens on stage, which can be used as a platform for artists’ visual productions. The LED screens are installed permanently for year-round use, so they are always ready when needed. The setup is quite likely unique in Finland. The image shows the world-famous DJ and producer Tiësto performing at the 2023 Solar Sound festival.

In addition to DJ Tiësto, the world-renowned band The Offspring has also performed on this stage during the 2023 stadium festivals.
