Shopping Center Tullintori

Ledimedia Oy and the Tullintori shopping center collaborated on a project. We installed a total of 65.5m2 of display surfaces for the shopping center located in Tampere. Four display surfaces serve to advertise and inform about Tullintori. Three LED screens are placed on the building’s exterior for outdoor use, and one of the screens can be found at the Hammareninkatu entrance.

Transparent Vertical LED Displays

The facade of the building features two Ledimedia outdoor displays on each side. The screens, measuring 7 meters in height and 3 meters in width, serve as advertisements for the shops in Tullintori. The screens display business logos, informing customers about the stores available in the shopping center. Notably, these outdoor displays are transparent. Tullintori requested transparent screens, as the building itself is a protected site, requiring specialized planning.

Horizontally Built LED Display

Above the main entrance of Tullintori, there is a horizontal screen. The display surface is as wide as 12 meters and 1.5 meters tall. This screen serves as the logo and advertisement for the shopping center. For instance, the screen can welcome customers.

The LED display located at the Hammareninkatu entrance measures 5.5m2. This display also utilizes LED technology. The pixel density of this particular LED screen is much higher because it is generally viewed from a distance of about 2-4 meters, while the outdoor displays have lower pixel density, as they are expected to be viewed from much further away. Pixel density is considered based on the viewing distance of the screen. This is because a lower possible pixel density reduces the costs of the screen’s components and energy consumption. In practice, pixel density refers to the amount and spacing of individual LED lights (which act as pixels).
