Ilkka Oyj chose Ledimedia as a partner

Ledimedia acts as Ilkka’s technical partner in the digital display business; the company maintains I-Media’s existing screen network, and provides support and ideas for new technical solutions. LEDiMedia’s quality, service ability and responsible solutions have convinced Ilkka.
In November 2018, Ilkka Oyj bought the digital outdoor advertising business of Seinäjoki-based W-Media & Management Oy. With the sale, the offer included outdoor screens, info screens that can also be used in shopping centers, and movable screens that can be used, for example, in connection with various events.

“We didn’t have comprehensive information about this type of business in advance. We have received a lot of help and tips from Ledimedia experts on what should be taken into account. All our questions have always been answered, and the dialogue has been flexible – Ledimedia’s service attitude has been excellent”, praises sales director Timo Ranta.

Strong confidence in quality and expertise

With the new business, there was also a need for screen maintenance – we had to think about how to maintain the existing screen network. Ledimedia was wanted as a strong partner in this. Little by little, Ilkka’s own display business has expanded. The most recent additions have been the new 25 m2 outdoor screens at Kuortanene Urheiluopisto and Seinäjoki Ravikeskus, which were supplied by Ledimedia. At the same time, maintenance of the screens can be done effortlessly through the company.

In particular, Ledimedia’s high-quality and responsible production convinced me. Ranta reminds that the buyer should be careful and not grab the cheapest possible offer. The differences in, for example, component quality, serviceability and warranty may be large. “We wanted to choose a partner through whom you can get high-quality products with a long life cycle,” says Ranta. The products delivered by Ledimedia come directly from audited manufacturers and the suitability of the product is verified before delivery. In addition, all delivered screens have CE and RoHS approvals.

Trust in versatile, technical expertise has been strong. The partnership has brought added value to both parties. “We have strong marketing and communication expertise in-house and within the group: we produce content for the screens ourselves, edit the material and manage it. However, we particularly value Ledimedia’s know-how and insight into what kind of content and in what resolution should be brought to the screens. In the display business, it is also important for us to be able to use the same partner for both our own and our customers’ needs. For example, at the moment we have a need for screens of different sizes, but also for av devices. Ledimedia can respond to all of this with its know-how,” sums up Ranta.
